Geoffrey is currently a research assistant professor at the University of Michigan Medical School (Department of Internal Medicine) and research associate at the Michigan Center for Global Health Equity. His research focuses on accelerating science and its translation through the development of computational techniques for encoding and programming biology at different scales- from the molecular to phenotypic. This approach is informed by a strong belief that encoding biological systems computationally could enable the integration of biological data and knowledge across scales of complexity, eventually enabling the development of highly effective and safe therapeutics. He is a Co-founder of Anza Biotechnologies, a startup focussed on accelerating discovery and  sustainable manufacturing o therapeutics. Previously, he was a research assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame, lead researcher at IBM Research Africa and a co-founder of Helix Nanotechnologies, a DNA nanotechnology company. His work has been featured in several media including CNN, USA Today, Fast Company, Ozy, among other media.
